Well, last night went VERY late, so here is the blog post, now, at 2pm the next day lol. I wish I had a day off with nothing to do but read and listen to music!!

Yesterday, I woke up from a nightmare very early and had a hard time getting back to sleep. (No, it wasn't about anything we saw in the movie!) But I dragged myself out of bed and went to the gym before work, and I did a shortened course of my upper body circuit training routine.

Work was not bad at all. It's a store I love, which is always crazy, but it really wasn't crazy one bit, and we got a lot of inventory stuff done, which I felt good about.

All day, I was watching the weather. Husband and I are doing another StepBet, and we both needed a stretch day. My stretch day is just over 13,000 steps, so we were going to go for a long walk between work and dinner/Steelers game. I needed 8,000 steps to reach my goal after gym and work steps.

Well, as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot at work, it started pouring. ::sigh::

I tried to do the treadmill, and I thought, ok, I'll walk half a mile, run a quarter, until I get my 8,000 steps. Guess what. My FitBit apparently does not accurately track treadmill running steps, so I was getting credit for less than half of the steps I was actually doing.

In the end, I started reading a new book (it's a creepy YA dystopian novel called Unwind, and I'm IN LOVE with it so far), and got 5,000 steps.

For the final 3,000 steps, I did a walking video. My friend Katherine is always telling me about Leslie Sansone, who does walking videos. Usually, we can go for a nice walk around our neighborhood here, because we have so many sidewalks. But with the rain, I had to do something else (and as much as I was enjoying the book, it's hard to hold a book and walk at the same time).

So, I did Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Walk

And it was a lot of fun!! She is very upbeat and positive, which I like. It's low-impact, especially compared to Richard Simmons, so I really recommend it to anyone who wants something fun and upbeat that's easy on your body. The half hour was gone before I knew it! She holds hand weights, but I wore my Piloxing gloves instead, since I'd already lifted in the morning.

And I made my goal!!! (So did husband - he jogs in place in front of the TV, and he can go for hours like that. I am too easily bored & distracted, so it doesn't work for me, but he rocks it.)

For dinner, we made chicken piccata with swiss chard, roasted garlic cabbage, and roasted potatoes with peppers and onions. The chard, cabbage, potatoes, onions, and peppers were from our CSA. The meal was DELICIOUS.

Steelers won, I snuggled with my dog, and then we watched movie #2 in our 31-day film fest.

The third Nightmare On Elm Street movie, Dream Warriors. It's so good. The claymation in this is EXCELLENT. I forgot what a legitimately good horror movie this one is (sometimes Freddy gets a little campy and goofy in the later films).

Tonight we are having lobster and steak for my birthday, and then watching my favourite horror movie of all time, Hellraiser!!!

I tracked my calories yesterday (ate a little more than I wanted to, but I was STARVING all day), took my vitamins, and stretched after my workout.
