What happened to September? I know I say it every month but September was like a dream. It flew by. I'm sure that part of the reason was Hubby's surgery and time spent in the hospital. (He is doing quite well.)

Anyway, it is now October.

Today I spent some time cleaning up my garden. It was a warm day and I enjoyed getting outside. The summer was so hot that I didn't do as much outside and I usually do.

Next week (October 10) is Thanksgiving.

On October 15, we are having a family dinner at a restaurant in the next town. Himself has already made the reservation. Daughter and son-in-law will be home. The Detroit Marathon is October 16 and they are doing the relay. Daughter has done the Detroit half the last three years but this will be the first time for our son-in-law to enter. Our second son and grandson will both be doing the half again. I will be in Windsor to cheer them on. (I'm not sure if Himself will be with me or not.) I am wondering if I could be ready to enter in 2017. I have to decide by January 1 because they have a reduced rate to enter on that day. I would really like to see the sunrise on the Ambassador Bridge. They say it is worth the run.

And so it is October. My goal for the month is to get back on track. emoticon

So glad that surgery is in the rearview mirror for you, and that your hubby is recovering well! It's no wonder September melted without you noticing it! So, now, you're free to contemplate the future. I know you enjoy rooting "the kids" on, and I also know you get a great deal of satisfaction out of your own participation... if you *do* decide to go after the Detroit marathon, will it be as part of a relay team?

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, how do they organize that relay? How far does each relay member run? Does it vary like the RAGNAR or Market to Market ultras?

Back to the theme, whatever you decide, you know I'll be rooting from afar! emoticon

You would certainly have a goal to work towards if you decided to do it. Does that motivate you?

Glad to hear your husband is healing. September was a scary time for you.
