I hope that the word 'home' brings good memories and happy thoughts. I left our home August 31 to spend a week at daughter's dog-sitting. I expected to relax with my book and enjoy their pool.
So much for making plans. September 2, Himself got the phone call we had been waiting months to receive. Summer had been spent 'on hold'. We didn't want to venture too far in case that call would come. They wanted him at the hospital on the Tuesday after Labor Day.
We (our son and I) got him there on time. The one o'clock surgery didn't begin until three o'clock but it proceeded as planned.
My 'vacation' was not spent reading books or taking long walks but making hour long trips to the hospital and back. On Sunday, Himself and I were released from the hospital tie.
We spent Sunday with daughter and son-in-law. They made us a wonderful suppertime meal. Today (Monday) they both returned to their jobs and their regular routine. Shortly after daughter left, we climbed into the van for our trip home. It is a lovely day for a drive. We did not travel on the 401 but on a nice peaceful road (#3 for any who are familiar with Ontario roads). There was hardly any traffic. It was good.
And now we are home. Our two dogs came home with us. They are happy to be here too. Sure there are things I will have to do like get some groceries, mow the lawn and unpack but I am so happy we are both here together to enjoy HOME.
