800 cal Blood Sugar Diet, week 9 weigh in
Tuesday, September 06, 2016
Starting weight 9 weeks ago 79.2 kg
Started last week at 76.3 kg (167.5 lbs)
Now weigh 75.3 kg (165.5 lbs)
Lost 1kg or 2 lbs.
Starting HBA1c 8.2 in May
August HBA1c 6.6
This is a total loss of 4 kg or 9 lbs in 9 weeks which is not a great loss considering some people are losing that in 2 weeks, some in 1 week. When I look at their losses and I see they started at 300 lbs or more it is only to be expected. I could have lost more but I took a week out and gained 2 lbs but hey ho, I'm only human and I did not do any damage to my blood glucose reading, keeping them around 90 to 110 (5.0 to 6.1).
I had a bit of a shock 2 days ago when my morning blood glucose reading had shot up to 131 (7.2), which I know is not very high but I could find no reason for it. I analyzed everything I had eaten, slapped my wrists for a sneaky vodka and tonic but could see nothing out of the ordinary. The only thing different was that I had very little sleep due to wrenching my shoulder and being woken by the pain every time I moved. Two things there, lack of sleep and pain. The body chucks out all sorts of hormones that we have no control over so out of our control.
My next reading that same evening was back down to 90 where it has stayed. So just a blip.
I hope to reach a HBA1c of 6.00 at my next official test in November but today I took the results for the last 10 mornings (including the 131) and did an average and came out at 6.2. If that is an indication of my HBA1c then I am well on track. Except........ I am going away mid October....... something else to deal with when the time comes.
I am over the moon and happy, happy, happy. I set myself small but silly goals that are none weight or diabetes related and my next goal is to throw out 3 pairs of dingy, baggy knickers (panties) when I get to 161 lbs. I also want my wedding ring to fit me again after taking it off when my finger swelled up with a mosquito bite. It had always been tight since gaining weight over the years but had worn a ridge so it was firmly on. After leaving it off for a couple of weeks I found I couldn't get it back on comfortably.
Only 2 kg (4.4 lbs) to go.
Here's looking forward to another week of delicious food.
