feeding the furry kid

The vet could find nothing wrong with our Shih Tzu. Killer had not been eating and the x-rays proved there was nothing in his digestive track. The vet gave me something to stimulate the appetite but you have to put it in his food and if I could get him to eat, I wouldn't need it.
So I thought about it, fixed up some new food that is dehydrated and had to be mixed with warm water, which he turned his nose up at, I put a piece of hot dog next to the food and offered him a small piece of it....nothing. Then I spied the peanut butter. I put a little peanut butter just below his nose. He licked it off and kept licking. So I offered him some on my finger. He didn't take it, so I licked it off myself. Then I saw a package of sausage sticks. I offered him a small piece...and he took it! I gave him a couple more. Then he went over to his food dish and took the piece of hot dog to the other room and ate it. Then he came back and ate all of the reconstituted food. He left most of the dry food, but had eaten an appropriate amount for a ten pound muttnick. Now, about the next meal...
So ironic, I have a problem NOT eating, and have to figure out how to get my dog to eat.
