I didn't even sweat

I left work at 4 yesterday afternoon and came home to find that my kids have done nothing but lay around ALL day long! I decided that they needed some exercise. (Insert evil laugh) I had to pick up my step-son from the soccer field at 5 since my step-daughter had soccer practice. My son, step-son and daughter all decided they wanted to go to the River Walk with me. This is a 4.5 mile trail through the center of town. It follows the river that runs through town and is paved and shaded so it is about 5 degrees cooler than walking anywhere else.
My boys are both 14 and my daughter is 10. We started walking at a pretty good pace and about a half mile into it, everyone slows down...I explained that they had younger legs than mine and should be able to keep up no problem. Then the whining started...LOL We continued to walk. I was determined that they were going to finish the whole thing. As we were (slowly) walking, I noticed that the boys were drenched! I commented on it and they both said they haven't had a workout like this in ages. OMG! Then they commented that I hadn't even broken a sweat. I just giggled. They were out of breath and miserable and I didn't even feel like I was challenged. You see, I like to jog. I am not a great jogger by any means but it has become my passion. I love the way my body feels after a good run! It was interesting to me that I wasn't even being challenged and the kids were about to pass out (not literally). I think kids are too caught up in their electronics and need to be outside more often playing and getting exercise. So even though I didn't sweat, I feel that the kids got a good workout!
