Streamlining things ... simplicity

Monday, August 08, 2016

I have been on a hiatus. I think I wrote about my staycation last time I wrote. I really got a lot done; Things I've wanted to get done for years.
That was good and it also provided me with much reflective time.

I thought quite a bit about how I am so sick of diet plan after diet plan that I just can't stick with. My summer has really been pretty bad with not watching my food and not exercising enough. I defend myself with my injuries. IT Band pain and then falling down those stairs on my bad shoulder and injuring my tailbone. Luckily I think I only gained 2-3 lbs.
The Best.
I've had.

I found a new directions to go to.
I am not going to share this just yet, until I see how it goes.
But I will eventually.

What am I working on right now
I am working towards getting rid of our humongous entertainment center.
I found a grand old buffet type piece of antiquity that will replace it. We don't need such a huge piece of furniture anymore. The T.V. is not even in it. I am digitizing our extensive CD collection and plan to use a wireless bluetooth speaker. so tiny compared to our big rack stereo system and the big speakers.
I am also going to sell our big computer closet that used to be a free standing linen closet. I am replacing that with just an old, refurbished library table.
I am taking books that I stored in my sewing room and haven't looked at in 10 years, to the half price books place and getting a little cash for them.

That Marie Kondo book has really changed the way I look at space, what we store and how I think. Trying to simplify. It really is life changing.
This way of thinking is what has me going off in another direction with my health concerns and the time I spend trying to work with diet programs.
That is not in the book, but that way of thinking changes you ... well anyway it did for me.

We sold 90% or so of our stuff when we retired and took off travelling. VERY freeing feeling!

And I hope you can figure out what kind of eating plan works for you. I know that for me, I can feel deprived really easily. So my plan is to eat my favorite items, in moderation. And skip the stuff I don't like, or think is mediocre.

Saves calories, and I'm happier with less.

    Just a thought.
