When I walk out these doors at work today, I am on a Staycation.
We actually planned a traveling vacation, last winter, for this time frame.
We got to thinking a month or so ago that we have so many projects that we really want to accomplish, hanging over our heads. We decided that we would rather get those done and take in some local attractions. The good that it would do our head, in having some of this stuff done, would be better for us.
The house will look so much nicer and be more functional while we are at it.
Better for us than driving in the car, west where it is even hotter than here, spend alot of money, fight crowds and on and on.
I have formulated a schedule of what I want to get done around the house. The schedule is light enough that if we decide to take off on a day, unscheduled, it won't be such a big deal.
It is so weird the kinds of things that make me happy. For instance, this week we have been grocery shopping in our freezer. I got sort of mad last week end, that we can't fit stuff in the side-by-side freezer in the kitchen. I started taking stuff out of it and looking what I had.
The chickens got a great big colander full of stuff.
Then I organized the shelves to be meat, fruit, veggie, frozen treats (they're all sugar free!). From there I planned menus for this week to use that stuff up. We had burgers one day, Spaghetti, using some sweet Italian sausage I found, beef stir fry from round steak and stir fry veggies I found. I used a few kinds of frozen fruit to make my breakfast smoothies and now can start over fresh with those. Really just assigning the shelves to certain things helped a lot. Now I need to label them so we can keep that going.
So next week will be closets and storage areas cleaned up. Garage cleaned and organized (I hope it cools off for that day). Shop for a few pieces of furniture we could use replaced (see we saved that out west trip money).
There is some decor things around the house I'd like to change up.
We'd like to go to the Wisconsin Dells for a day trip and maybe take in a local minor league baseball game.
I am glad I have been able to keep up the garden nicely this summer, I don't feel compelled to spend time out there during this week.
I also am taking off the extra Monday the week after. I like to think that day will be a "whatever I feel like doing day". I have no idea what to do with such a day? I have never really taken a day to do whatever I want. I mean really, in every sense of the idea. I always find responsibilities. I am working on this and I am going to write down ideas on slips of paper and put in a jar. Then next week end I will look them over and see what I will do on Monday.
Be Well My Friends,
For The Love Of Health!
