Ruff Day

Sunday's are tuff. Everything that my family eat is no good. Smothered Pork Chops, fried Catfish, Greens, Rice, Cornbread. The food looks so delicious, but the ways it's prepared is so unhealthy. I need to find a better away to eat at family gatherings. I'm afraid of failing.

    Welcome to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes. You have to make you #1 and tell yourself that you are worth it. If you don't take care of yourself you can't take care of anyone else. what I do at times like that is to drink a large glass of water before sitting down and then just eat small portions of the not-so-healthy choices. Everything is okay in moderation. Also as suggested eat a salad or soup first that way you are halfway to full before the temptation hits! You can do it! We are here to help!     Hey...Spark People has become my support groups, for you see I am a recovering grease-holic. Yes, it is true if you can "fry it" I can "eat it".

    Seriously moderation is a very important key to being successful in our journey. One day at a time....Look for small victories...Look for non-scale successes.

    IT all sounds good, but how about making a big salad and making that YOUR main course. The greens are okay, lots of water or iced tea(unsweetened), crunchy veggies. You could also eat soup or salad before you go. Lots of water before, during and after the meal.
    Anybody challenges you, they are NOT the food police, even mom...
