Besides being National Hug a G. I. Day (when I was a kid, we called it "Military Day" - "go March 4th"), it's also "National Grammar Day" (and "National Day of Unplugging", which would make it difficult to be on line).
The last time people corrected my grammar, I wrote them out a wonderful sentence and challenged them to diagram it, just to mess with their minds. They ran back to their hidy-hole and left me alone. 1413 days ago
I'm an English teacher. I've calmed down about grammar mistakes as I've gotten older, but the misuse of apostrophes still gets to me. Is it really that hard? On the other hand, I couldn't solve an algebra problem now if my life depended on it.
I laughed all the way through this!! Thank you so much! 1419 days ago
Several years ago when I used to work for a senior citizen program, one of the programs put senior citizens as volunteers in schools to work with specific kids who needed extra help. Each child had to have a care plan on file with us what the senior would do to help them. There was one first grade teacher who wrote her plans for 3 to 5 students out and mislpelled and had such bad grammar in her plan I wondered how she ever became a teacher! 1419 days ago
I can't stand people saying "imporant" instead of "important" (leaving out the "t" drives me nuts!) I also intensely dislike the non-existent word "conversate" - I absolutely HATE that one! 1420 days ago
