X-weighted Week 5 personal challenge

Monday, February 22, 2016

My personal challenge for this week is to look back on the past 4 weeks and write down 3 things that I am proud of and 3 things that I would have done differently.

1: I think I did pretty well on all of the challenges
2. I have created a caloric deficit of -28,342 since the start of the challenge
3. I have not given up

Things I would do differently:
1. Get more sleep! My insomnia has definitely affected the numbers on the scale
2. Walk more. I do the best when I walk 6 days a week in addition to the strength training.
3. Not over do it. I went gung ho with aerobics and cardio in the beginning and threw my back out pretty bad. Be careful!

Having thyroid disease means that my caloric deficit doesn't always match up actual results. Based on the -28,342 caloric deficit created since 1/20/2016 I should have lost at least 8 pounds. I have done the work to deserve 8 pounds gone .. grrr...
I will not let this get me down. The scale is moving down and as my thyroid levels even out my progress will show better.

Do not let the scale define you!!!! This message is for me, too!

Overall I am pretty proud of myself :)

Woohooooo... go Team Wolf Spirit!!!!

emoticon You are doing a super bang-up job! The scale will move, just like kids growth spirts... all of a sudden you'll be down more than you expected, just like sometimes you're not down as much as you expected.

    spirts....just keep on emoticon

Good job! And whoa that's a heck of a deficit! My mom has thyroid issues, but I did not get her genetic predisposition for them thankfully.

Don't get discouraged. Sometimes it takes a little while for our efforts to be seen on the scale. Keep up the good work. You are doing amazing! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I love this - an affirming, POSITIVE evaluation of how things went and what you would do differently next time - beautiful! Negative self-talk is so common among us and it can be more damaging than the food choices we make. You made my day with this uplifting post - and we are all cheering you on! You've got this!! emoticon

Good luck!!! Sometimes the loss shows in other places than the scale. My clothes are fitting better and I have lost 9 pounds over 3 months. Don't get discouraged
