The Challenge Starts Tomorrow!!

And it's good cuz I'm fat. Not just "Oooh, I gained a couple of pounds!" but I GAINED A BUNCH OF POUNDS!!!!!! And that is just in the last week or so.

I know my downfalls. Fred and I didn't munch during the day. Yes, we spent a LOT on food ($700 a month) but it was all "Meal" food. Then I got here and I still didn't munch. When I moved out on my own, I was too poor to munch. And then Bill came into my life. Bill, who has the metabolism of a gerbil, and can eat anything. He eats all day long and never gains a pound. (But, in middle age, it is catching up with him!)

I, however, have no such metabolism. I am sedentary. And lately, middle age IS catching up with me; The pounds are packing back on. And I'm scared.

Four years ago, I lost 80 lbs and kept it off--till now. I am going to ride my bike and give up snackies. Ok, some snackies.... emoticon

    I have also developed a slow metabolism. I am 60 now and definitely have to workout in some form everyday. The holidays really did hit me hard. Both of my grown daughters brought us a plate of homemade cookies,candies,etc. Ahrg..it is so difficult for me to pass up sweets.I need to get back on the better food wagon. I certainly don't need to gain anymore.

    I hear you loud and clear. I've thought that I was in the zone, the zone where I'm maintaining and I won't gain again, but then a medical set back and I start gaining again, and think to myself, "Man this bites!" I'm all healed up the pounds come off again, and another medical set back and here comes the weight again. I've finally realized that it doesn't matter what condition my body is in, sometimes the pounds just sneak back up on you and if I don't take defensive action immediately it will be out of control. This is a healthy lifestyle change journey that I will gladly do for the rest of my life, to keep God's Temple in Order.

    Find your groove and work from there outward. Take your baby steps as they get you to all of your mini goals and then your ULTIMATE GOAL faster than anything else.

    I hear you! The weight just sneaks up on you, but to give up all snacks? Right now seems impossible for me too. So, right now, snacking on a swiss roll, popcorn and some fruit. That's my dinner, I'm so bad bu promise to get better. Baby steps.
