It is good to give thanks to the Lord .... Psalm 92:1a
Today is Thanksgiving, a day where we gather with family and friends to feast on turkey and "all the trimmings" or whatever is traditional for your family. Many have the custom of going around the table and each person stating what they are thankful for this year. We will be spending the day with friends as our family is spread across the country.
This year we have had many blessings and look forward to more in the coming year, there have been some trying events in our life. I thank the Lord for these for they have made me stronger, in body, mind, and spirit.
A wonderful man who blessed our lives for many years use to say,"What has the Lord done for you today"
Well, this year I’m thankful for these and many more:
The wonderful love of Jesus and God's grace.
My husband who has been supportive of situation with my mother, and dealing with his son's diagnosis of melanoma
My mother, she has aged considerably but is able to do things help my sister prepare Thanksgiving dinner.
My sister and brother in law that have brought mother to live with them until the appropriate long-term solution is arranged (most likely my home)
The blessings of our children and grandkids
Extended family and friends, who love unconditionally
