Health Scare in Week 7

Friday, October 30, 2015

As I was walking home from my daily walk last Sunday, I had terrible pressure in my chest and shortness of breath. I got terribly dizzy and light headed. I came home, got in the car, and went to the ER. My blood pressure was 178/100. I was admitted and had every test for heart problems, and all came back negative. I was released Monday afternoon, with a diagnosis of hypertension caused by stress. It was a wake-up call for me. I cannot be a good care-giver for my husband if I do not take care of myself and relax more.

Even though I had no exercise on Monday or Tuesday, I still had a successful week 7. I lost 2.6 pounds and 1/2 inch off of my waist. Bring on week 8 ... I'm ready for it!

I'm glad your heart got a clean bill of health! Stress is a difficult beast to tame! Yoga or meditation, maybe?

Glad your tests were normal. Be sure to care for yourself, also a follow up with your primary to discuss the stress etc might be in order.

You may want to be tested for sleep apnea.

I'm glad they didn't find anything seriously wrong, but do take care of yourself!
