Getting there

Thursday, August 27, 2015

Last week we received our household goods. Unfortunately, one crate was missing. An important one, the one with the Grandfather clock in it. Also, as we unpacked it also had the entertainment center in it, we got the shelves but not the base. And all of my bookcases. And coffee cups and glasses. Plus, some paintings that can't be replaced. They said it should be here next week. Ok, I will believe it when I see it. Both my desk and my dh's desk didn't survive the move. Or the fan, my Virgin Mary figure and other important stuff. Including my desktop computer with bunches of important files. They wrapped it up in paper, put it in a huge book with about 5 pieces of paper balled up. It was rolling around in the box. It was upside down when taken out of the crate. Other than the fact I don't have a desk or shelves so I can put my books away, things are coming together nicely. The living room looks good for the most part, the broken desks are pilled in the back. The rest of the broken stuff are in a box. My office, is still a mess but the kitchen is done except for the missing things. Today, when I went to make a carrot cake I realized my grated was missing and a few other key items from the kitchen. I got my car yesterday, today I got a new GPS since mine didn't have Europe on it and not enough room in the memory to download it.

Exercise and eating are going good. I walk everywhere. Went to a welcome brunch yesterday with some friends I made on the plane. Sunday we are going hiking on Mt Vesuvius and then will have lunch and a wine taste at a local winery. Should be fun, I will have my camera so I can take looks of pictures. Oh, and my tripod for my camera is missing also. But I do have my bed and sofa. Which is so much more comfortable.

Have a great day!

Having your things broken or missing must be frustrating. It sounds nice to be able to walk everywhere. Thank you for sharing.
