Whew! Back home after a short, busy trip. I had a great time, reconnecting with colleagues from around the country, and attending sessions that were fun and informative.
Part of the trip included eating and drinking, as it always does with this group. A huge part of this journey is evaluating old habits, and making changes as needed. This week would have been an excellent example of how a person could do this...but a person did not, and instead ate rich food, and drank far too much, and sees a 2 lb gain on the scale today. Honestly? I was expecting worse! Back to mindful eating today, and resuming dog walks now that my pooch is in the clear following his little foot surgery. That two pounds is nothing, and I really did have a great time going out with folks a couple nights this week--worth it, if not the ideal choices.
I don't have any big food or schedule challenges for the next little while here, which is great! All the social plans I have the next week or so are with people who aren't food pushers, or understand that I'm trying to get fitter and healthier, and are supportive. Plus, everything is organized right now--house is clean, bills are paid, calendar is updated. You know how when you're on top of things, and life isn't chasing you down, that this is all just easier somehow? That's where I an heading into the weekend.
