Really Dina!!!!!

Friday, June 26, 2015

I have on my left arm a silver bangle that my daughter had given me over 10 years ago. We both thought it had been lost in the multitude of moves we have experienced this past 1o years. It was with joy that we both delighted in when it showed up. We found it just a few days ago muddled among her jewellery box that she was sorting through. Junk to be thrown away and that to be cleaned by Mum. We were both elated at the find. You see I have every piece that Ariel has ever given me.....I treasure her gifts to me as she treasures mine to her. The bangle had been a source of amusement and delight to us both ....the lovely inspirational quote etched into the silver.......'Shoot for the Moon - Even if you miss, you will land among the Stars'. I have been wearing it daily since. Today did not start out well for me due to the issues of yesterday that caused disappointment and sadness that I have to admit spilled into the dawn of today...... I got dressed and decided to leave for Barnes and Noble to pick up a book I have wanted for some time. There are books I read on my Ipad, books I study with and books I cherish and keep close to me so that I can re-read, reflect and sometimes simply touch for inspiration and guidance. I have many inspirational books with some of them having been written by Doreen Virtue. The book I have wanted to add to my collection was ANGEL WORDS and the resonance science behind choosing our words wisely and optimisitcally versus with negativitity and sadness.

Needless to say today was the right day to buy the book with my saved coins and bury myself in its content to buoy myself up into a better spirit.

On the way to the store, driving and crying and so very sad, I looked upon the bangle and the inscription......my response......

OH DINA......just your luck....you'd shoot for the moon, miss and smack right into a rocky asteroid......

It was at that moment that I heard myself, tears streaming down my face and on my way to pick up a book that would guide me to use positive words wisely that I began to laugh......I mean ........REALLY DINA???? Off to buy a book about the science of words and positive affirmations with a bangle on your arm that houses a wonderful expression from yea olden times and you are damning yourself......

Sometimes I suppose, it is best to laugh at yourself before someone else does......Hugs

I would really love that bangle too! It sounds beautiful, and it has a really inspirational message, and is from your lovely daughter!

I also like Doreen Virtue! I've read books from her on Indigo children, angels, and fairies. She's emoticon

Well, I don't quite get what was so funny, exactly. I mean, if you think it was ironic that you were needing anything more positive after finding the bangle with the meaningful words, or what? People need reminders. So buying that book, even though maybe you already know some of that stuff, would probably be good for you, and you might learn new things. A lot of times, I will give away a book that I have memorized, but later, I'll miss it, because I forgot it after a while. Have you heard the story of how Abraham Lincoln would walk for miles to borrow books from his friends? He would, and he would give them a penny for letting him borrow the books, because he was so appreciative. A penny was a bigger deal in those days! At the time, that was like $5, or something! Maybe if you feel you're overspending on books, you can find a store that lets you trade in books to get books like this at a discount, or you could find some people like you, who share similar interests, and trade books back and forth.

I'm sorry that I am just now getting to this blog. I've been really behind in my emails, and my blog subscription emails. I'm almost all caught up with my SparkPeople emails!

That's a great post. All my kids are grown and gone. There's nothing better than finding something that reminds me of a time I spent with them. Not enough... but there were those times!
    Thanks for sharing

I'm so glad you found that gift from your daughter! Sometimes the smallest treasures are the most precious and beloved.

I'm sorry that you found yourself dealing with a difficult situation last week. Those can be hard to work through, though it's important to experience and acknowledge the feelings that come with such situations. It's great that, amid the sadness, though, you were able to find a bit of laughter. I wish you much more laughter this week. emoticon emoticon

It is wonderful when a lost object appears just when we need the good memory or inspiration!!! You are right, it is better to laugh at ourselves and get on with our life before someone else does!!! Hope today is a more upbeat day!

Whenever I find myself getting flustered and turned inside out, over something that's not going 'my' way.... in comparison to this vast and magnificent universe... I start laughing at the significance I give to such insignificance. Upon reflection, these 'experiences'' weren't put here to hurt me or make my life miserable, as they were to 'teach' the 'student' in me... and sometimes I need more than one lesson on the same subject. Have a beautiful weekend, sis. emoticon emoticon
