2015 Rap River Run

D & I love doing this race as the course is fun to do, the organizers really go all out, and the cause is great. It's for Youth Family Alternatives & the RAP House, a place where runaway youths can be safe.
This is the race site.
A Soft Start was given to a special group called Ashley's Angels! This is another reason I love this race.
We started about 15 minutes after. Like I said, the course was gorgeous and most of it was run by the Sims River! I had calf issues so my pace was just into the threshold of the pain. My Garmin went dead on me so it was all about the pain pace. As I crossed the finish line, I was quite satisfied with my time. D & I stayed around after the race, watched the awards ceremony, and ate some recovery goodies. The highlight was running into our SparkFriend TIAGAYEPFA!
This past Monday, D gets an email and it's from the Rap River Run Directors, thanking everyone for participating, how the fundraising efforts worked out, and a list of the winners who hadn't picked up their awards at the race. Yep, I took a 3rd in my new age group! I have no idea how I missed hearing my name called at the ceremony!
So I had to go out to the Rap House and pick it up. I also got a tour which meant a lot to me and solidified that I would keep this race on my calendar. What was my "major award?"
I have a lot of plaques, medals, and unique items but I'd never received a trophy. Love it!
So, short and sweet compared to other race reports but this was a race with a purpose! As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by!
