Abs ahoy!

I changed my workout a little bit. I guess I should say that I added to them.

I am not a fan of the "same ole, same ole". I like variety and change in everything I do. It's just how I am, always rearranging furniture, trying new colors on the walls or the decorations. Turns out, my workout sessions will be the same.

As we all know, those of us that workout, workouts can be repetitive, aka boring! I was doing fine and normal up until two days ago, when I hit my first "boring" bump. My body is stronger, every day, and so it seems that I can now sail right through my routine. It's all fine and dandy except that I have time left over since I'm faster now and I sort of feel cheated.

My idea, which I tested, raising my reps from 40 to 100 of each, is not going according to plan. I have to find a routine that leaves me feeling complete but not exhausted, and I sure was exhausted. I don't want to quit yet I don't want to settle.

I have been doing my challenges as always, Ive just been trying more reps and tweaking the exercises. Tonight's tweaking involved adding new exercises, crunches and leg lifts. Ohhhhh mama! My abs were on fire, I used muscles my body and mind were hoping I would not find!
I was on my back catching my breath for a minute and on the first attempt to get up, FAIL! I had to grab hold of my sofa to pull myself up. Even now as I sit here typing, I can envision the fun it will be tomorrow getting up in the morning.

I also did two other new exercises But I don't know the correct term or name for them. I'll have to research and find out calorie info so I can add it to my favourites. I wonder though, how important is tracking the calories if I'm not working that route? I'm simply tracking the exercise so I can look back at what I did and what worked. I'm feeling a little guilty at not tracking them.

All in all, I am satisfied with tonight's workout. I still feel the muscles work as I do the exercises, the challenges are moving along. I did not know about rest days before I started, I sure am glad I do now! I don't yet understand why some people get sad during rest days. I love them Lol!

I think I'm going to fix something delicious and fulfilling to eat, that workout left me starving.

    emoticon I was just writing in my journal that changing up exercises through out week made the whole experience interesting and do-able - I used to walk every day, or cycle every day.... I would find a rut and stay in it till I abruptly quit it...

    This time I'm making a point to mix things up all week.....
