Day 32: 1 month pics!

What a day to make a comeback! I know that I've fizzled out on my blog, but I definitely didn't fizzle out on anything else!! I met all of my goals this month, and I am still going strong in week 5 of the Diabetes Challenge. I walked a total of 100.5 miles in January, 75 LS miles and 25.5 other miles. I even started jogging, which wasn't on my goal list until Spring, but my pace has increased so much that I feel the need to speed up when I'm out walking. I have shaved 4 minutes off my 1 mile walking pace so far, and 7 minutes off if I am jogging. And thanks to the Weekly Mini-Challenges, I've made water, fiber and strength training a habit, and learned not to put too much stock in what the scale has to say about things. As a family, we've celebrated 5 Meatless Mondays so far and now eat healthy & drink water on a daily basis. I still struggle with my motivation, but I don't know if that will ever go away, and the bottom line is that I am seeing TONS of results regardless of the number on the scale. This month the scale did cooperate with me though...I am down 12 pounds for month one! I really wanted 13 pounds because that would have put me 75 pounds down so far, but I guess that's a victory for next week. I had made a promise to myself that I would be happy with one pound per week, but I set my goal at two pounds per week. Well, I ended up losing 3 pounds per week and while I am proud as hell...I still feel like I could have worked harder this past week and got that extra pound. Hitting your goals really can zap your motivation the same way not hitting them does! I knew I was doing really good, so I ended up letting myself cruise into the finish line instead of finishing strong. I won't make that mistake again next month...that's for sure! Anyways, here are my 1 month Walk Away Winter pics:
For month two I am starting a 30 day squat challenge that I found on Pinterest, as well as a Bootylicious Mini-Challenge. I still plan to walk 100 miles again for February, but my biggest goal is to ST three days per week because I want to burn fat faster and build my endurance. I am going to start an 8 week 5k plan too, and that will take me all the way to the finish line on April 4th! I can't wait to see myself in 4 more weeks!!
