Stuck between a need for water and a need for sodium...

So post-op I am required to get a minimum of 64 oz of water per day. I love water. I really do. Drinking water itself has not been a hardship for me in over 10 years, but now it can be quite a challenge as I can only take small sips at a time and if I drink to much I get sick to my stomach. The problem that I am having is that apparently the water is flushing all of the sodium out of my body and I find myself getting light headed often. My doctor has informed me that I must now add salt to my food, which is something I have never really done before. With the limited amount of food that I eat, and the majority of it being food I would never NEVER never add salt to (such as yogurt and protein drinks) I am finding that I will need to find creative ways to change my diet again. So, for now instead of yogurt for breakfast I can cook an egg and top it with some avocado and salt and pepper. For lunch I can eat some cottage cheese and add in some salt and pepper and maybe some kind of fresh steamed veggie such as brussel sprouts or zucchini with some salt. Hopefully these changes will be enough to get the light headed feeling to dissipate and me not have to start drinking more things like Gatorade or other drinks besides water.
