I didn't lose weight for my wedding, and it didn't matter at all

I have been meaning to post about this since I got married in June! I finally just posted three blogs with many, many wedding pictures (ever since I started wedding planning I have loved looking at wedding pictures from all different kinds of weddings, so if there is anyone else who loves looking please enjoy!).
I had hoped and planned and dreamed about losing weight for my wedding since we got engaged a year and a half earlier. I thought that this would be *the magical thing* that would motivate me to lose the weight I gained after my father passed away.
Guess what? It wasn't.
But you know what? It didn't matter at all.
I found a beautiful dress that I loved.
I felt beautiful and special all evening and I didn't think about my weight once.
I worried about the photos after the fact but when our photographer brought them to us I did not think about how much I weighed at all, but about all of the shiny and bright and sweet memories with family and friends that were captured.
I was at my highest weight, and it was still one of the best days of my life! I am so grateful to have had that day to mark the beginning of my marriage to my wonderful husband Hal, and the union of our families.
So my point in writing this is if anyone else out there is feeling pressured about losing weight for your wedding, or having a hard time losing weight beforehand, try not to worry. Lose weight for your health, lose weight to feel good about yourself, but don't let your weight influence how you feel on your wedding day.
