Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone
Wednesday, November 12, 2014
I've been thinking lately about jumping up my program a bit. It has been pretty easy for me to stay on track lately, so it's time for a challenge. We are leaving for a long trip 2 weeks from today and I want to feel comfortable that I will stay on program, and fit into my favorite pair of jeans. They are fitting now, and it would be nice to keep it that way.
As usual, just when I start thinking this way, my BLC Azure team comes along with a challenge that offers points to do what I was contemplating. This week I can get 2 points for stepping outside my comfort zone and blogging about it.
My comfort zone for food right now is following the SP plan of 50/30/20 carbs, fats, protein. I eat low sodium and high fiber. I also exercise 550-600 minutes a week. Starting today, I am going to go low carb on South Beach. I already know that my body responds well to South Beach or Atkins, especially my BP and BS. I am also going to up my exercise to 650-700 minutes. I started today with a very energetic 60 minutes of water aerobics and will be taking a minimum 60 minute walk soon.
One thing I am excited about is that my teammate Dollfacedx posted a recipe for omelet muffins that will be a perfect item for my low carb eating. We also have a freezer full of salmon and chicken that I want to finish off in the next 2 weeks. Seems like it is all perfect timing.
I would love a buddy to do one or the other with me. Anyone willing to do South Beach or Atkins, or to up their fitness minutes?
