Better Late Than Never

Thursday, October 16, 2014

I keep remembering the saying “Better late than never” and that is how I’m feeling now because I FINALLY got it!! I’ve been a member of SP since 2008, without any lasting results and had become quite discouraged. I kept trying to do what worked for others, not realizing it wouldn’t work for me.

My “AHA” moment was realizing that we are all created uniquely, and what works for someone else may not work for me. I needed to find the right combo that would lead me to living a healthier life. So instead of me trying to duplicate someone else’s success, I needed to find my own way. And it all began with me learning to LOVE MYSELF, which allowed me to view my challenges differently. I now have an “inner-peace” and I’m able to accept my flaws, make adjustments and keep it moving.

I have since lost 8 lbs and I’m confident that the weight loss will continue. I will follow my instincts, eat until I am no longer hungry and not full, drink 8 glasses of water a day and remain active (keeping up with my 1 yr old granddaughter does wonders).

So, as I look back over my journey, I can embrace all of life’s challenges because they have pushed me to become the woman I am now, and I can gladly say… “Better late than never”.

... absolutely!!!!! ... I can't tell you how many times I tried before finding what works "FOR ME"... it has taken quite awhile, but what counts is that we didn't give up and with perseverance we found that balance. emoticon emoticon
