Really positive things are happening...

Monday, May 28, 2007

This has been a week full of goodness! I am starting a new job tomorrow and went into the branch on Friday to meet the staff and was really welcomed with open arms. I feel truly thrilled to be having this new opportunity. It has taken a long time to get to this point-but it seems like it will be well worth the wait.
But, the most thrilling thing that has happened this week is that my incredibly PICKY three year old daughter started eating. When she turned two, she stopped eating anything except for pasta, cheese and a few kinds of fruit. No veggies, no meat, nothing. The last year and a half has been a real struggle. And while she was still growing and thriving, I worried everyday. We have worked closely with her nursery and have tried all sorts of things to get her interested-all the more reason for me to set a healthy eating example for her! Slowly over the last 8 months we have been making progress. She has been trying new foods and has even found that she likes a few veggies. But, this week she seems to have really blossomed and has had some chicken, roasted turkey and has eaten heaps of carrots and potato! We have been saying to her that eating healthy foods will help her grow big and strong. This week she said to me "I'm growing bigger, Mommy and you are growing smaller!" Indeed!

Wow you are doing great!! Size 14 Levis, a new job, and a daughter who eats all those good foods -- fantastic!! My son just turned 4. All of a sudden he seems like such a big boy. I went to Eddie Bauer and bought some size Large shirts (woo hoo not XXL or XL). School is done in 2 weeks (yahhhhhh) and then I'm planning on focusing on getting below 200 and then out of obese (191 is the magic number). Take care, Sonja

    Hello Andie, hello Sophie,

What a good girl you are for eating all your veggies and chicken for your mama !!
I think your mama is "REALLY" happy , ( over the moon!! ), because you are eating so well !!
Now then Andie, my daughter Maryam is STILL having the very same problems with her daughter , Yasmin. Maryam commented one day to me ...... that if nobody offered her food ..... she would never ask to be fed.
And yet , she is healthy and really intelligent 4 and a half year old. Yasmin does love black olives and cheese !
What a great blog Andie ...... I'm sharing in your joy too ..... Congratulations on your new job .... hope you are happy there and make lots of new friend's.
Your blog has really made me happy !
Lots of love to you Andie and to my sweet friend Sophie too !
    Rosemary.
