The Big Move

This was supposed to be a blog to say “omg we did so much moving this weekend that even my toe and finger bones hurt” but I think I can do better than that!
My stomach has been acting up a lot, probably from eating out last week and from the stress of the move. I am definitely one of those stress/nervous tummy trouble people. I have been trying to channel all of that nervous energy into productivity or walks. On Friday I caught myself stressing and I told myself – Walk it Out. And that is what I did, a quick lap in the office. I didn’t need a snack or to sit here making myself sick with worry – I needed STEPS. I’m discovering how helpful these little walks are and they aren’t hurting my trackers either! I also made myself a new “healthy vision page” for my desk. Now it has: a picture of a heart made of fruits and veggies, a woman flexing her bicep, a woman meditating, a sign that says “MAKE IT HAPPEN” and a sign that says “Go on. Do it NOW!” I have to keep the positive reminders in front of me!
Ah yes – this weekend was the big move to the new house! My step tracker shows a ton of steps, but it doesn’t show the amount of lifting, bending, stair climbing, maneuvering, etc. that I did too. I ordered pizza for our friends that helped us on Saturday and I ate 2 medium slices and felt awful afterwards – I swear I can’t digest pizza anymore, which made all of the afternoon moving fun. My BF and I ended up taking a break for dinner and I had a skinny margarita and one chile releno. We went to buy a new bed set, sheets, lamps, etc.
Yesterday we did a huge push of stuff. My parents came over to help and my mom made the gardens look fresh. We took a break for Father’s Day Dinner – had to buy my Dad the crab cake he wanted! We ended up getting enough over to the house that we slept there last night for the first time! It felt like a hotel – new bed, new sheets & blanket, new bathroom. I was about ten minutes late today because I had to figure out where all of my stuff was this morning. Whew. Can’t wait for that to wear off. Hopefully our furniture will come in the next few weeks and we’ll have more together and then I can post some pix! This time we own the place so hopefully it is the last move for a few years?!
The past two days combined I’d say we did physical work for about 20 hours. I’m definitely feeling it today. But overall, it has been a very exciting weekend! How about that Game of Thrones finale huh?!
Anyways- the weather is supposed to be a bit iffy this week. I am aiming for at least 3 walks. I’m hoping to get to the store tonight to restock our fridge, pack lunches again, and to cook dinner in the new kitchen! I realized this morning one of the things we “forgot” to move over was our scale so I’m not sure exactly where I’m at right now but my body is kind of thrown off from all of the changes so maybe it is best to give it a few more days anyways. I just want to get back in the swing of things no matter what that number says! I want to keep improving my health and wellbeing and with all of the change in my life, now is a good time to recharge that mission.
