My First Week on Spark - Moving in a Better Direction
Monday, June 09, 2014
I just finished my first week with Spark People. Unfortunately, my scale was not working for my first weigh-in this morning. I'm going to try to replace the batteries tonight, so maybe I can do my weigh-in tomorrow. There were some ups and downs this week. I did great through the week days, and then made some less than healthy choices over the weekend. Even though I'm disappointed at myself for not sticking to my plan through the weekend, there is a silver lining. I did not eat as much junk food as I normally would have. I got a to-go box instead of cleaning my plate in the restaurant on Friday night. On Saturday, some strawberries found their way into my frozen yogurt. At lunch on Sunday, I had a slice of pizza with a side salad instead of two pieces of pizza.
So, no, I didn't stick to my plan, and I ate some foods that I should have avoided. I most likely went over my calorie budget. However, I did feel a shift in the right direction, reminding me that this is a lifestyle change that will have to occur through a lot of smaller changes. I will remember this as I start this new week with some new goals. I will stick to my calorie range all week (including the weekend), by eating healthy and wholesome foods at home. After some grocery shopping yesterday, I now have a fridge stocked with some lovely fruits and vegetable that I look forward to enjoying this week. I will also exercise at least 3 times before work this week. To make this easier to resist the snooze button, I will go to bed earlier.
I'm looking forward to a new week, with new opportunities to make more, better choices toward a healthy lifestyle!
