Easter, final good-bye to my mom, Alan's grave.

Friday, May 23, 2014

Hi there everyone.....

I've not done a blog in a long time, so I thought that I would do one with some photos of Easter, saying "good-bye" to my mom and Memorial day weekend. I hope you all will enjoy.

This is all the Easter eggs that were to be hidden outside in the yard. Some are the plastic eggs you get in the store, filled with candy, some are hard boiled and dyed.

From left to right is my youngest DD, my brother & my nephew~all holding their eggs that they "hunted". My brother is the oldest, and the biggest kid of all.

The Easter lily that my DD's bought for me. One of my favorite colors just happens to be purple.

A little off the Blog title~but thought this was interesting. This is a ceiling fan at a local restaurant. They are little hand held fans that have been put on a huge rotating wheel in the ceiling. It continually goes round & round, like a regular ceiling fan (except in a totally different direction), and gets the same job done. In another local restaurant they have a plane propeller that is probably 10 times bigger then normal and takes up the entire ceiling in the biggest room of the restaurant. They keep it on low and it keeps the place very comfortable.

The dam where my mom wanted her ashes to be dumped.

Good-bye mom.

My little Tulsa taking a nap in Alan's power chair.

The girls & I went and put a flag on Alan's grave for Memorial day. This is the first time we've been able to see his headstone.

Me.

My DD's, Savvy & Tammy.

Last photo before we leave the cemetery for our 1 hour drive back home.

I hope this has not been boring for anyone. Love & hugs to you all.

Starr, your blog is very touching and meaningful. I can't understand how you could possibly think it could be boring to anyone. I think it would be a great idea if you would do a blog for us maybe once a month or when ever you feel up to it and post picture of different things about your life. I loved seeing Alan's grave and the flag that he deserved. Your daughter are pretty and so sweet just like you are. Hugs and love and friendship always Starr! Danlin

Not boring. And the pictures at the grave site reminded me of when my family would visit graves.

    Starr,

Your pictures are definitely not boring. Thank you for sharing. Easter looks like it was lots of fun. The site your mom chose is very nice and restful looking--I can see why she chose it. What a fitting way to honor your dh this first Memorial Day. I did not realize what a young widow you are. I continue to lift you and your lived ones up in prayer.
