I wish we could have a good old chin-wag over a "cuppa" coffee in either your kitchen in Logan or ours here in Colorado. Not to be; however, you will always be in my heart, as a very special sibling-in-Christ, sweet Vickie!

    I love you!

I continue to emoticon , my sweet Sister/Friend. Fighting back tears as I realize just how much! emoticon

I enjoy rereading your blogs. Doing so gives me a bittersweet comfort, don't you know?

Rain today & welcomed it is. Second year in a row that we have had new sod in our "back forty". Last year, my beloved MrV did all the hard work, only to have it die out, when the teen we hired did not honor the commitment to keep it watered the two weeks, that we were away in July. This year, MrV had a company do the work (just this last Friday) & it looks like a lovely rich sea of deep green out there. This emoticon will surely make a difference to the lawn & our water bill. emoticon

My MrV is, also, making other outdoor chances, so it is a busy time for him. One of the changes is that he is making a "tinkle" area for our "Little Gal" - lots of work to put it in; however, it will be a nice addition to have in place.

"Little Gal" came to us through the Humane Society last summer. She is the sweetest little thing & we are so enjoying guardianship over her energetic self. I wish that she could give us her overflow energy. emoticon

Please feel the love coming to you from Colorado, my precious Sister!

Your drive to keep busy, as does my beloved MrV's, puts me to shame, Vickie! emoticon

So we know what color your kitchen has been, but not what color you have chosen to paint it. emoticon

Our kitchen walls are pure snowy white with equally as pure white cabinets & dark brown hardwood flooring with a slightly lighter brown wood counter tops. Then the back-splash is of a light gray tile. All appliances are white. I have always preferred a basically white kitchen --- figuring it easier to spot anything needing washing down & accent colors can be changed to anything that takes my fancy. We have decorated two walls with lighthouses & I made curtains with a lighthouse printed material.

Our weather has been just "perfect" --- neither too warm nor too cold --- although on the coolish side, for sure! We don't have any scheduled out-of-state visitors coming until the first week of July, so it has time to warm up a bit before then.

My cherished MrV has been painting one of our guest rooms --- it was a white with a bluish tinge & now is a lovely cream color. The room has mushroom, blue, & rich brown shades throughout. It is quite a large room, so we have it divided into a sitting area, with a king-sized bed in the sleeping area. It is on the ground floor, with its own quite large bathroom --- sometimes I think about using it for our bedroom. emoticon

My treasured MrV has also been working on outdoor projects --- he got a late start because of the unseasonable cold & snowy Springtime weather that our area experienced. He amazes me with how much he gets done & in record time. One thing he is doing is enlarging our veggie garden patch --- originally he planned to double it; however, it has been increased to almost three times its original size. Now he plans to make new wooden boarders for it & lay some stone paths through it. He, also, has planted six beautiful yellow leafed bushes in the front yard landscape. They give such an inviting splash of color out there. Especially lovely looking are the ones he planted by some dark purple & blue flowering plants. He has lots more plans to work on before his list is covered. Of course, just about the time the last project on the list is completed, more will be added --- isn't it interesting how such lists just keep growing? emoticon

I made a roast pork yesterday & served it for supper with some sweet potatoes that our youngest made for us & a fresh green salad. Today I have some flounder fillets defrosting in the refrigerator & will serve them with seasoned baked French fries, along with a salad.

I have spent the majority of the last couple of days, proofreading & reworking a rather long & extremely important missive for a family member. I enjoyed doing it; however, my little gray cells are overworked to the point that all I want to do is vegetate today. emoticon

Well, that is all going on under our piece of the blue sky, so I will call this a wrap!

    God bless you, Vickie!
