I have big cravings at lunch

I crave junk food. My biggest cravings are when I am at work. During lunch, I crave burgers, tacos, fried chicken, fries, etc. What makes these craving worse is that I work a block away from many different kind of fast food places. Today, I have been craving chicken fried steak. But, I brought grilled chicken and salad for lunch and it just didn’t taste the same a chicken fried steak with gravy. So, I had 3 Little Debbie donuts. They were about 200 calories that I didn’t need and I am still craving chicken fried steak. My cravings are almost every day and I know I am only 5 minutes from a fast food restaurants. As SP has shown me, if you have a craving, you need to satisfied it and then get back to counting your calorie again. But, what if my cravings are daily? I can’t have chicken fried steak every day and lose weight. I don’t exercise enough to burn the calories I put on eating fast food every day for lunch. Plus, I knwo fast food is not good for me. Any suggestions?

    I keep a "treat" close for cravings. I usually crave sweets so a dark chocolate kiss usually helps me. I also drink LOTS of water. I keep plenty of fresh fruit available.

    Maybe you need to up your protein since you are craving proteins. Drink a Light Muscle Milk or protein shake to see if that helps.

    Cravings are part of the journey. Frustrating, but we still have to deal with it. Keep at it, it does get better.

    This will sound silly as it did for me when I first read it. I took the person's advice. And it came from SP. The person indicated that cravings were often not really a craving for my special foods (notice mine were the same as your's above). They said to drink water each time I had the cravings and wait 5 mintues and see if the cravings go away. They did each time. Now I drink water off and on during the day and have no cravings what so ever for all the junk food I use to want. We all need water. I encourage you to try it. It truly worked for me and I thought the whole idea was just pure poop. Good luck with your journey and remember to just keep on keeping on. You will reach your destination one step at a time. emoticon
