Challengers of HOGWARTS - KaMp mUgGleS Summer 2014
Sunday, April 27, 2014
For this week's inter-house game in our Hogwarts challenge we were asked to come up with a blog with our ideas for a good summer KaMp mUgGleS. I did a bit of research on summer camps and here is what I learned.
First I went back to some memories of my own summer camp days.
That's me third row seated, third from right. This camp had sailing and kayaking and canoeing and dancing and tennis I saw from the stickers on my certificate but I don't remember much. I preferred the Y girl's camp I went to for many years. My nickname the first year was Mushroom (mushroom cut) and then in subsequent years I became part of a group of friends and my name was always Jelly Bean. Of course our camp we will need nicknames, sort of like usernames but more user-friendly.
The following are images from Business Insider of 18 Outrageously Expensive Summer Camps. These camps cost over $10,000 a summer.
We would have campfires too, but we may not be able to afford as much wood.
We'd have tug of war, too, but the uniforms probably aren't in Hogwart's budget. Our tug of war might look more like this -
We would have the face painting though, for our arts & crafts class (my suggestion, as I can't afford canvases)
We'd have theatre
And cookouts for Culinary Class
And music
And we'd have dancing
From the air our campsite would look like this:
But I wouldn't forget our dear Writing Professor, my Hufflepuff sister from New Zealand. It will be winter during our summertime for her. I did my research though, and found there is no challenge unsurmountable.
Are you looking forward to the summer? Maybe you would like to join in the fun at KaMp mUgGleS with us!
