I Bought $30 of Yarn to Knit Myself a $10 Hat
Monday, February 17, 2014
This weekend I have actually been doing a lot of knitting. Watching old movies and knitting. I saw some old Elizabeth Taylor classics, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" with Paul Newman and "A Place in the Sun" with Montgomery Clift.
Here is the result of my Saturday evening:
Accompanying this image is a knitter's joke. Well, not so much a joke as a true story.
At the beginning of winter I saw a really cute neon hat in a "fashion" store for $10. I wanted to buy it, but thought, "I'm not buying a hat like that when I can knit one myself." So, the next time I went to the yarn store I bought yarn to knit a neon hat -- $30 worth! Yup! Creative people do not make their own clothes to save money, that's for sure.
