I am a SPARK ACTIVITY TRACKER FAN! emoticon emoticon
In the past, I have used many a pedometer and APPs on my phone and I really enjoy the Spark Activity Tracker the best!! I like to wear it on or near my foot so it is usually attached to my sneaker, my sock, or my slipper. I have been using it for nearly a month and I enjoy the feedback (and encouragement it provides).

At our present stage of life (4 teenagers) I feel a lot like an evening taxi driver. That position along with my morning exercise ritual (assorted classes & equipment use lasting about 1.5 hours 3-5x/week), home maintenance, and exercising the dogs left me feeling like I was a very active woman. However, let me inform you - BUSY is not necessarily ACTIVE!!! My goal is 15,000 steps/day and I am generally between 10,000 and 15,000. The shocker though was that some of the days when I felt the busiest - taking kids here and there - were some of the lowest in terms of activity and steps. In fact some of those days were less than 5,000 steps.

So, how has the Spark Activity Tracker helped me? Well, NOW - I check how I'm doing around noon and again in the evening. If I am low - I try and add a walk with the dogs or even some extra general home maintenance (cleaning, shoveling, etc.) Also, sometimes I arrive to pick someone up early or hang around and watch a practice. NOW - instead of sitting in the car or watching practice I get out and do laps around the field or parking lot. A little here and there makes a difference.

Results are in as well - For the first time in years I have taken off a few pounds. I believe this to be a result of the little 10 minute activities I've been adding here and there so that I can achieve the glow award for the day. Our dogs are happier and leaner too.

I find it amazing how motivating and encouraging the little bugger can be.
