Happy Thursday!

Happy Thursday! I woke up and bolted out of bed this morning. Shortly after I got up I heard a noise...it was me going "Holy cow!" I have been wanting to run forever so I set myself a goal to be able to run a mile by next June. So I started running in intervals. It feels good but wears me out! Thank goodness I stretch afterward or I would be more sore than what I am! Good news is that it is also helping me get good quality sleep at night so I feel refreshed and ready to jump right out of bed. I will probably do it a little slower tomorrow though!

I do want to say how blessed I feel being able to get up and exercise. I see people everyday that struggle with physical or mental limitations and it makes me appreciate how lucky I am that God has given me this healthy fully-functional body. Now I need to make it the best I can and continue to keep my kids motivated to stay healthy and keep exercising. I try different meals on them to see what they like. My goal is to create the meals they like in a healthy way. The kids love Mexican food so the other night we had a Chicken and Bean Enchilada Casserole and Refried Beans. They were literally fighting over the casserole! I also substituted fat free sharp cheddar cheese for a garnish instead of the regular cheese and they didn't notice one bit! I think we are moving in the right direction! My husband is acquiring a taste for these healthier foods also...he's a hard one! He will eat anything I make but he has to "doctor" it up...so difficult to find something he likes without having to doctor it up. Hey, he has lost a pants size doing it though!!

Sorry for rambling. I am also thankful for all of you who comment on my blog regularly. TATTER3, DRPEPPIE121, BIGSISTRUCK, GRACIEST351 and BIGPAWSUP, you mean the world to me! Your comments and experiences from your own blogs keep me moving in the right direction! I love having you all as friends! Even though I haven't met you, you continue to daily re-inspire and motivate me! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!

    Great job on the healthier meals. More than anything, the sitting down around a table with family is important here as well. I think it makes for a much more well rounded experience growing up. Whenever I look back on memories with my family, about 75% of them are of us sitting around a table at a meal (just make sure everyone doesn't keep grazing though, lol)

    Hooray for running! It really does help you get much better quality sleep. And your story reminds me of something I'd read before: Run in the morning before your brain figures out what you're doing.

    First of all: awwwww! So sweet! You are welcome and it's a pleasure to be on this journey with you! It's exciting to have friends that we can go through this rough patch together...and the continue on it when we "get to that finish line" because as all people in weightloss know... there really is no finish line. :-)

    Good for you with getting out of bed like that and working out! It is SO hard for me to do that! When I was young, I was able to do that...like I'm talking middle school and high school. Now, it's near impossible for me to barely get out of bed. Part of that is because I have to wake up around 4:45am and be out of bed around 5:15am at the very latest. I shower... that's done at 5:30....then go downstairs and make oatmeal and my smoothie...and then go upstairs around 5:45 to finish my hair and get dressed. I'm out of the house around 6:10am for a 35 minute drive to work. It's near impossible for me to do any kind of working out...

    BUT.... I've told myself it is a TREAT to get to move after work! I'm in a chair for 8 hours...and to workout and move around is a huge plus! So that's my motivation for working out for the most part. I do admire those who can wake up and jump right into it quite literally...haha Congrats!

    AND YAY FOR FAMILY GETTING HEALTHY!!! It's SO hard. You've read my blog about that before... and while I make good food for the hubby, he still eats more sweets than he needs to, but that's not up to me. Part of it is also that his body's schedule is so stinkin' messed up from working overnight and taking three college classes at a time. So, I'm not harping on him right now.... after college is over for good... he'll definitely start working out, I'm sure! :-)

    ANYWAYS, sorry for my novel of a comment...thanks for the sweet things you said today!
