8. Have you ever worked with a physical trainer? One on one? Small group? What skills or talents did the trainer have that helped you? What didn't help?
Yep, I bought a few sessions and worked with James. He's very knowledgeable about the YMCA itself, as well as most group classes. He is a spaz (and I say that with respect; really!) and is truly driven by his passion to help everyone be healthier. He is big on core strength and balanced training (right-to-left, top-to-bottom). He's helped me to identify options for some exercises, goals to shoot for and actually got me to try Group Cycle. The only thing that doesn't help is that he's not a morning person (his words, not mine), so he and I are often 'ships in the night' at the Y.
In other news, the no cocktails / decent bedtime routine really is a hit. Granted I've relaxed the standards a bit this week (The Hubster claims that I've been studying TOO hard; easy for him to say!), but it really does help immensely. I actually wake up on my own a few moments before the alarm goes off, which is MUCH nicer than jumping out of bed to make the alarm stop.
