Because I go to the gym around the same time after work & on Saturday mornings, I'm there the same time as some other folks. You get to be buddies with these folks you see so often & that can be a huge advantage.
There have been evenings when my commute has been horrible, but I'll call the gym & let them know I'm still coming. Those ladies will wait for me (even when I've been an hour late). I'm so truly blessed!!! If I don't call or show up, I get Facebooked, txt'd or emailed.
I took off work today so I could have a long weekend & usually when I have Friday off, I don't exercise. But my gym buddies asked if I'd be there this morning, so I'm supposed to meet them at 9:00 so we can workout together. Time to repay the favor, right?
If at all possible, find some workout buddies. I have 3 or 4 & we might not all necessarily be there at the same time some days, but it helps keep you on track when you know people are looking for you. I go to the gym to improve my fitness, certainly, but I also go to see my gym buddies.
So, if you're having trouble staying on track, find some workout buddies. You don't have to go to the gym to find buddies. How about a neighbor or your kids or your spouse? Walk your dog, walk your cat, walk your hamster.
Pets can be workout buddies, too.
