A little Ava time
Sunday, August 25, 2013
Well yesterday we were able to get Ava for several hours and decided to take her over to an event involving horses. She's never been up close and personal with one so we thought what a great way to do so and she could see them run, jump, and all that jazz.
Richland is a town about 6-7 miles from our home and in between is this site. Here is a link, if interested www.richlandpark.com/
Anyway, it was hot, we walked a lot around checking the different courses and events, found some shade under a tree, had ice cream, and just let her get up close and personal. She had NO fear of these large, beautiful, animals so she'd ask permission of the person holding the reigns while they were eating grass and get right face-to-face and pet their nose. Clearly, we were lucky to find some very nice people and horses.
After we returned and a brief nap she was ready to get outside so off to the apple trees in the back yard. I've eaten one and although the skin is a bit weird looking, once removed, the apples inside are very tart and crisp. No chemicals were used on them so once she tried it, she was hooked and wanted to take some home. Grumpa got some photos of the little monkey,as we fondly refer to her, picking some.
We had a very nice day and look forward to our visit next time.
