Watching the SCALE

I hear time and time again how using the scale is evil and obsessing over it can be counterproductive. For me though it works. I weigh my myself a few times a day. Now when I have a "splurge" day I may avoid the scale for a day or two depending, but overall I like what I see on the scale even if it is up. I think the first thing is that you have to expect flucuation and a lot of it. My weight flucuates in a five pound range throughout the day. I find it fascinating to get on the scale and see the different numbers. It is crazy to see that your weight has altered a few pounds (lost or gained) in like two or three hours. The other thing is that if I feel the scale is high, I try on my clothes and it is still amazing that I fit clothes I haven't been able to wear for years :)

    Yes I do this sometimes also. It works somehow I tried to hide my scales once and it about drove me nuts!
