Finally doing it with Curves!

I had been up and down a bit the last few months - mostly just at a plateau, and then I noticed a friend who had joined Curves back in March was looking really good. She had lost 12 pounds and 16 inches in less than 4 monhts! That was enough to convince me to sign up. I had not had a great opinion of Curves in the past, had never joined one, but had visited one and wasn't impressed. But they have improved the system and added the diet element which makes it much more attractive. I think each franchise is very dependent on the person who owns/runs it, and the one near me is owned by a very experienced personal trainer/yoga instructor who is great and she has wonderful staff members who are helpful and encouraging.

Since joining in June I have lost 10 pounds in six weeks and lost inches. I can fit into clothes I haven't worn in 2 years! The diet is a very sound one- easy to follow without feeling hungry. Having the weekly weigh-ins like at Weight Watchers keeps you honest! I have been able to eat out and to even have several birthday celebrations & other parties without totally losing momentum.

I like that I have a lot of flexibility in when I go to work out, but it's a structured program when I get there. Exercising at home with no real structure was hard for me. It was just too easy to skip. I also have found that the other members are encouraging and supportive, so going to work out is not something I dread, but that I look forward to.

I will check back in another month when I hopefully will have lost some more weight and inches. emoticon
