Slimming Down on Friday

Friday, July 26, 2013

I usually weigh myself every morning when I get to work. I know that a lot of people are of the belief that you shouldn't do this, but I do it anyways. For the first few weeks of my weight loss journey, stepping on the scale in the morning meant I would see each and every pound and half-pound drop off. It was great!

Yesterday I weighed myself and for the first time in six weeks I saw a one pound increase. I am not freaking out about it nearly half as much as I would have in the past. I have taken it in stride and am making sure that I stay focused and don't deviate - I had a Coke yesterday and the day before and I realize that I really should not be drinking soda in any form (the carbon is just not worth it). I've also been having dairy again, something that I need to seriously watch out for. Dairy is not bad for you by any stretch of the imagination but if you have too much of it, it can slow down your weight loss and who wants that?

Today is Friday and I am so glad. I feel like this weekend will be the perfect opportunity to really make a difference in this miniature plateau I've reached. This is just another hurtle that I will overcome with hard work and perseverance.

This morning started off well and I am hoping to maintain the forward motion throughout the day.

BREAKFAST: 289 calories

Kashi Cereal, 1 cup - 220 calories
2% milk, 1/2 cup - 69 calories

SNACKS: 190 calories

Banana - 105 calories
Large Steeped Tea, 2m 1s - 85 calories

TOTAL (SO FAR): 479 calories

I'm really looking forward to the diet aspect of losing weight now that I'm successfully tracking my foods. I think of calorie counting as something like a game - it can be a lot of fun!
