On the Job

Saturday, July 13, 2013

Well, I started my new job. I'm actually working right now. It's only part-time work, no benefits, but I'm hoping when I graduate college in December it might be able to turn in to full time work. Hopefully. That or I'll keep working here and get another part-time job. I like my job so far. It's a whole lot of sitting and doing nothing. I'm lowest man on the totem pole and it means not a whole lot of responsibility. I have to shelve books every once in a while and sit at the circulation desk. Not very many people even come to the circulation desk. Most people come here to look at the books and to use the computers, so not much work for me. It will be awesome once school starts and I have homework.

My house has been depressing. We are out of money and it's only getting worse. My husband's job doesn't pay very well and bills keep getting higher. Luckily, I found this job, but I have to pay gas to get here and in the middle of August I start going to school again and it takes about $150 in gas every 2 weeks. So my job will be paying gas pretty much. It's maddening. We're about to go on vacation with my family and I'm just not sure how we'll afford it. I'm tired of not having money. I'm hoping my husband might be able to get a new job, but he'd actually have to look for one for that to happen. I know it's hard to even find jobs to apply for, it took me two months of searching to find this one. Luckily in August I'll be able to get my financial aid in to help, but it will be going in to paying for car insurance for my husband and I's cars. But, at least I'll have it to help pay.

Weight loss is still hindered by my leg. My job is at least getting me moving more by having to scoot around to check the floors.
