Foot injuries and new jobs.

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

So the going to the gym thing went well for a couple weeks and then was fine for the weeks after that. Until May 24th. May 24th I took a nose dive off my front porch. I tore a ligament in my foot and had to have foot surgery. I haven't been able to walk since then. I haven't gained any weight, luckily, but I also haven't lost any. I still can't walk for another 2 weeks. Then it's still with a cast on and in 3.5 weeks I get my cast off and a walking boot on. At least once I get the walking boot I should be able to finally swim. I haven't gotten to swim yet this year because of my foot. It sucks.

I got a new job! I start tomorrow. I'm so happy they were understanding of my foot. I was in a cast for the job interview and told them it was going to be a couple months of not being fully functioning. I start work tomorrow at a college library! Woot! I love working at libraries.

I want to start blogging again. I've been isolating myself too much.

Hang in there! It is quite an accomplishment to not gain weight while not being able to do much exercise. Working in the library sounds like fun.

Take care and do check in. Your teammates are rooting for you!

So sorry about your injury. The job at the college should be a real find! Everyone I've known who lands a job at a college gets free or almost-free credits, great pension/retirement plan, etc., and is able to advance in their position over the years. I bet you will love it! You haven't gained while being laid up -- that is definitely progress!
