Pregnancy Dr appt....possible C section....

Monday, June 03, 2013

So, I had a doctor appointment on Friday...Got to hear baby's heartbeat again and we are scheduled to find out the sex on July 5th!! Such an exciting 4th of July this year!!

I had an exam while there and the Doctor told me that my birth canal is very small, which doesn't surprise me at all since I am a small person anyway. She said she would make a note of that in my chart and told me that I may possibly need a c section!! She told me we would try for a regular delivery but if things weren't progressing then I would have a c section. I am hoping to have the baby naturally....so, here's to hoping.!! The doctor told me not to worry either way and that women's bodies are amazing things and she's worked with women thinking there was no way a baby would be coming out, but it did!! So....more to add to the adventure of pregnancy!

I ended up having him vaginally just fine. My doctor thought for sure I would end up in c section because I had to get induced due to not dilating. I was 0cm dilated when I went in. When I started pushing, she thought I'd either end up in c section anyway or it would take several hours. One hour later he was out! He's 14 months now. hahaha!

Congratulations on this new joy in your life. Women's bodies are amazingly adaptable. You have time to do some research and ask lots of good questions of your doctor, so you can help make the right decision for you and the baby when it is time.

My first baby was by c-section and my second was vbac. If I had to do it again, I'd go c-section. Don't stress too much over it. In the end, you have a beautiful baby! Good luck!
