My first year SparkVersary came and went without a bang. Not even a whimper. I gave myself a Spark Goodie for a "gourmet meal". I am thinking that it will shortly become a reality. DH is in maintenance now, after losing 50 pounds (while gaining plenty of muscle) and I've reached a year on SP, so we have something to celebrate.
While I can see deciding not to commemorate every 5 pound milestone with a food reward, these two accomplishments merit an occasion. And DH and I know by now how to work our way around a celebratory meal in a good restaurant.
Tulip season is over in the garden, and the next major flowers to bloom will be the poppies. So I changed my SparkPage design to reflect that.
I'm still trying to figure out how to break my body out of the set weight it has programmed itself to, which is currently 146 pounds. Yes I am losing some size -- I had to consign a couple of pairs of my favourite size 8 jeans to the donation pile, and size M is usually baggy ("except around the bustline" she says, rolling her eyes).
Ah yes. Still 36DD, though definitely on the last row of bra hooks now.
I guess I'd be happy at this weight if I never wanted to wear shorts or a sundress (never mind a bathing suit!), but it's nearly summer now, and those are definitely things I want to wear.
So I'm playing with my diet again. Made myself a post-workout smoothie this morning. Plenty of ginger as an anti-inflammatory (a little too much ginger for my taste, will have to adjust the next one) since I seem to be experiencing a bit of extra joint pain right now.
I'm not sure where the joint pain is coming from. Could be a new knitting project I started; could be something I am eating or not eating; could be that I am getting a bit depressed over missing the cat. Or any combination, I suppose.
Still, in spite of the cat, the weight plateau, and the joint pain, there is much to celebrate as May melds into June. By this time next month we will be in Europe on vacation, and I am really starting to anticipate how much fun it will be to get away.
Hope you have good things to celebrate as this month draws to a close!
