So, today when I did my leg workout on the strength machines, I was amazed again because I went up two levels (meaning I set the machine to a weight two numbers higher than previously -- however, the weight increment is not constant for each machine, so that's why I talk about "levels" and not "pounds").
Also, my personal trainer says there is very little fat left on my legs. Well, it was not said directly to me, but to my husband about both of us. For myself, I know there is still some jiggle left in the thighs, but not a whole lot.
My husband pointed out to me that the latest plateau I've been experiencing started right around the time I took up the gazelle machine as my cardio of choice. Couple that with the amazing increase in my leg strength and he is proposing that perhaps my plateau is being caused by the conversion of fat to muscle. I know I can often "feel the burn" in my legs at random times throughout the day, so something must be happening. I hope he is right!
Another thing: this weekend I noticed that the size S denim jacket I have been wearing is suddenly too big at the back under the arms. It looks fine from the front, and of course the arms themselves still feel tight (on me) because they are made to fit young women with no extra fat or muscle on their limbs. But next time I am in Old Navy, I may have to try on a denim jacket in size XS to see if it fits. The style I wear has lots of spandex, so maybe it will. If it does I will be surprised and amazed and very happy!
I've also started eating a few more calories per day, and not restricting myself to 1400 anymore. If I can eat more and continue to lose weight, why should I be holding myself back? I will have to keep a strict eye on it, though.
