And Our Flag Was Still There

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

I just wanted to share this photo a friend sent me that she took from her condo in Boston. She had dozed off in her chair last night and awoke at about 1:30 AM. She looked across the Charles River where MIT is (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). They had turned one of the buildings of the college into this:

Boston has great heart.

And our flag will always be there!! I hope our country never loses its compassion in the time of tragedy and the support it always shows to those that suffer!

emoticon What a Beautiful Way to show their Support! One of the buildings in Oklahoma City did that after the Oklahoma City Bombing. It was Very moving. They have continued since then to light up a Cross on the side of the building every year on the Anniversary of the Bombing and at Christmas Time.

MIT can do anything, but doing this in such a short time is amazing.
I speak with an English accent and i often spell things the English way but the day DH and I were naturalised I felt amazing.
All three of our sons are US born and ENGLISH by descent, dual citizens.
DH and I are dual citizens by choice, but this is home to us.
I just wish the language could be AMERICAN, it sure is not ENGLISH- Just ask your computer!.
    MY SOAP BOX SPEECH.
American soil, American Flag, American Language.
Why should immigrants learn the language of another country when they come to the US.
If they spoke American it might make them happier to SALUTE our American FLAG. emoticon
    HAPPIEST in the USA emoticon
But there will always be an ENGLAND in my heart. emoticon

THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THE PHOTO. PRIDE SWELLS IN MY HEART WHEN I SEE IT. emoticon

What a great tribute-really cool how they were able to do that! I am so glad no one you knew was hurt and that you weren't there! Such a tragedy for those that were and the lives lost and the ones who suffered! Thanks for sharing! emoticon

I am Canadian and so very proud of my neighbours in the USA....my husband and I were driving through the US on our way to Nova Scotia when all this happened....my heart and prayers go out to all of the injured, the grieving and the citizens of the USA who have been once again traumatized by terrorism. I am so sorry emoticon

    God Bless America emoticon

Maybe someday it will be realized that this country is made of stronger stuff than any terrorist or terrorist group can diminish but never take away....Semper Fi!
