Well, I'm in a much better place mentally since I finally broke 150 pounds. It felt like I had been sitting at 151 for ages, even though it was less than two weeks.
Some of that loss was probably hair, since I have had my hair cut even shorter -- from a wedge bob, with the front of the wedge falling to my collarbone, to an almost-straight chin bob. I know, pictures right? Soon!
The loss came after a few days of skipping the gym due to sickness, and immediately following a rare day of eating right to the top of my calorie range. Anecdotally, it would almost seem that the old advice to eat more in order to lose weight might be working in my case.
However, actual evidence shows over time that my weight loss "waves" always happen at the end of a month and stretch into the beginning of the next month. So I am guessing it was just TIME for it to happen.
Yesterday was a great day with family. We had a nice big home-cooked dinner. Everything was healthy (more or less), so I filled my plate with vegetables and tried to go easy on the scalloped potatoes and stuffing, along with skipping the turkey skin. I picked one item to have seconds, and it was German-style red cabbage, one of my absolute favourite dishes and something I don't get to have very often. Cabbage is a veggie, so I could have done worse -- even if it does have chopped bacon in it.
I'm guessing* I ate right at the top of my range again. If I went over it wasn't by much. And anyway it was worth it for a great dinner with family.
Today we have brunch with the other side of the family, so it will be another day at the top of my range.
And then I will get right back to it!
* I don't mean I didn't track. I tracked everything. It's just harder to accurately estimate the calories for homemade food that you didn't make yourself.
