A Couple of My Thrift Store Finds (Photos!)
Monday, March 18, 2013
Here is kind of a visual check-in with what I look like now, even though it hasn't really changed much since the "rock star" photo posted in my gallery. The excuse for this is to show off my thrift store finds.
The plaid skinny jeans I now realize look a lot like pajama bottoms, because plaid is usually associated with flannel, and flannel usually means pajamas. Anyway, here is the best photo (not saying much) of the two-piece ensemble that is the size 9 (yes 9, not 10) plaid skinny jeans I got for $8 and the size M Italian "designer" down jacket (missing its belt, but I wouldn't have worn it anyway) for $20 at the thrift store.
I also took a more close-up photo of the jacket. None of these are great photos of "me", because I end up scrunching my face when I am trying to take self-portaits. (Also, every one of these photos is a mirror image. I forgot to flip them so they would look "normal".)
Well, I have a newfound respect for the job of modelling now. It is not easy to make yourself look good for the camera, even if you think you are seeing a decent version of yourself in real life before you snap the photo.
Here is one more photo, even more of a closeup so you can see the furry collar (made of curly locks of wool sewn onto fabric -- so no real fur or animal skin involved).
