My Week with my darling Granddaughter
Thursday, February 21, 2013
Last Saturday we were blessed with a visit from our twenty three year old granddaughter. She is on her reading week from university and is spending it with us. I know that I am prejudice but she is really an amazing young lady. She is working really hard in her studies and has made the Deans List. Wow, we are impressed. She is kind, thoughtful and caring.
She is also teaching me how to eat better. She is a celiac and eats mostly vegetarian. I told my DH before she arrived to be prepared for some new dishes for our daily meals. You know what, I am not even missing meat. We have always eaten a lot of vegetables but this is so cool. We bought some veggie patties and they are yummy. So who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I think part of the enjoyment is spending time together in the kitchen and having great talks while we are working. We have done a lot of walking and bike riding and now we are trying to find a hike that will work for both of us. I love all this energy around me!
My plan is to keep it up when she is gone. This is a good lead into the Winter Challenge.
And you know what, I am having fun!!!!!
