I know you may not believe me right now, but things will change because you will change. I wish I had a mirror
which could show you what you look like on the inside rather than the one in which you see your reflection and quickly turn away because you don’t like what you see. When you look in the mirror, you see what others have told you. You see what you have read in magazines and watched on TV. You are looking at yourself through your own eyes, but your perception is clouded by the voices inside which promote the negative self -talk.
Dieting or starving yourself with those fad diets might seem like the answer to shed the weight fast, but they do take a toll on your body AND you usually end up gaining any weight you may have lost. It’s about changing the way you think. Change your thinking and you can change your behavior. Change your behavior and you will reach your goals.
So please be kind to yourself. Treat yourself the way you treat others- with respect, love and appreciation. You Are Worth It.
Stay active. Swim, hike, bike, walk, roller skate, ice skate, go for a run, just do what you can to keep your activity level going instead of sitting at home in front of the television, watching TV.
Stop closet eating. You may think no one knows who is eating the cookies or pop tarts from the pantry, but when they disappear from the cabinet and your clothes become too tight, it’s pretty evident where they went. I am not telling you not to eat those things. Moderation, rather than finishing the package will help satisfy your cravings but not add the excess pounds.
Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think. You will become a competent, intelligent, self-confident woman. You will become healthy- which is much better than being thin.
